10.221b Baker Street
Sherlock Holmes, perhaps the most famous detective despite its fictional origins, has made the London address of 221b Baker Street one of the most famous doors in history. Created by the author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, on the Baker Street, it was originally a completely fictional address, but later the street was elongated. The house at 221 was flooded with correspondence from Sherlock Holmes fans. In 1990, a museum was opened at number 237 and eventually granted special permission to become 221b Baker Street.
