If your middle school or high school student is interested in joining the first Williamson County Mountain Bike team, they will have an initial meeting today, June 19 at Percy Warner Park MTB park from 6 p to 7:30 p.
In addition to the meet and greet, there will be three practices scheduled each week with a tentative days of Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
The season will consist of four races and each team member is to commit to three races. Dates for the races include one in September, two in October, with a championship race in November in Sewanee.
All Tennessee League teams are currently Division II Teams. If there are 6 or more teams with more than 12 riders, the Tennessee League may move to two divisions. Larger teams (12+) will then be designated Division I, with Division II being made up of smaller teams.
While Division I and Division II teams do race separately, they are treated equally by the League in all aspects. The separation is only intended to provide a fair race environment.
