Williamson County Schools and the Franklin Special School District will host a community wide meeting to share information regarding the safe and appropriate use of the internet.1

The event will be held on Tuesday, March 8 from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. at St. Philip Catholic Church in Franklin and will feature Dennis Fetting, group supervisor with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Your Child, The Internet and Gaming, and What You Don’t Know will provide parents with useful information regarding the web and social media.

WCS Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney hopes Williamson County parents, students, staff and community members will make an effort to attend.

“Technology is crucial to participating in today’s world, and it is always changing,” said Looney. “This is a great opportunity for families to learn practical advice on how to create safe and appropriate uses of the internet within our building walls and at home.”

St. Philip is located at 113 2nd Avenue South in Franklin. Please use the Second Avenue South parking garage and enter St. Philip through the Second Avenue entrance. The event is free and is open to all Williamson County residents.
