VIDEO: Halloween in Hincheyville

Downtown Franklin

Hincheyville, a historic neighborhood in downtown Franklin, is THE place to go to get in the Halloween spirit.

Hincheyville was the first subdivision developed in Franklin back in the 1800s by Felix Grundy, James Irwin, and James Trimble. The neighborhood was placed on the National Registry of Historic Places in 1982.

The homes on West Main Street are known for going all out on Halloween.Last year, we shot a video of one of the historic homes that embraces Halloween in a big way with a front porch and yard filled with decorations and even a haunted garage for kids and adults to enjoy.

It’s still one of our favorite videos and we wanted to share it with you again in the spirit of Halloween.

On Halloween, Franklin Police Officers will close West Main Street and Fair Street to vehicle traffic between 7th & 11th Avenues, and 9th Avenue between Natchez St. & 96W from 5pm-9 pm for trick-or-treaters.

Franklin Police Officers and Firefighters will be handing out candy and glow necklaces to children within the closure.

Because of the influx of visiting families expected to trick-or-treat in Hincheyville, Franklin Police will share any cancellation or postponement news from that neighborhood on the City’s various social media channels.
