Thousands of Williamson County Students Return to School

Crockett Elementary

On Thursday, August 10th, Williamson County School begins the new school year.  The school day will be a full-day for students unlike in years past when the first day of school was a half-day of classes.

As many students will enter the doors of WCS as first-time students, there are 350 new teachers who will also be anticipating their first day at WCS.

And while the alarm may have gone off earlier than usual Thursday morning, students received a revised start time of the previous school year.

Williamson County Schools is a K-12 school district with approximately 38,100 students enrolled for the 2016-2017 school year. There are 44 school sites: 10 high schools, 9 middle schools, 24 elementary schools, with one K- 8 school.

They have created a “Welcome Back” video where members of the community gave advice and best wishes for the new school year. Take a look at the video below.
