Swanky’s Taco Shop located at 1175 Meridian Boulevard in Franklin closed quietly at Thanksgiving. There’s no sign on the door saying the restaurant is closed.
However, we reached out to the corporate office for Swanky’s Taco where we spoke to Brand Developer, Taunya Allen who explained that the location is a temporary closure.
Allen went on to say that Swanky’s Taco misses the Franklin market but they need to regroup and get back to the basics at the Franklin location. They hope to reopen the Franklin taco shop by the spring with a new look inside however the taco shop will still be Swanky’s.
The Franklin location was the second outpost for Swanky’s Taco which opened back in October 2008. Swanky’s Taco Shop was founded by Matt and his wife Michelle Wilson who opened their first shop in Memphis. Today, Swanky’s Taco Shops are located in Memphis, Germantown, and Southaven Mississippi. The concept behind Swanky Taco shop is to combine the atmosphere and service of full-service dining with the pricing and convenience of fast-casual dining.
