The City of Spring Hill Historic Commission will host its annual Christmas Open House on Thursday, Dec. 6, beginning at 6 p.m. at historic Rippavilla.
The event will feature live music, open house tours and, of course, delicious treats from local caterers. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
“We invite the public to celebrate the important history of Spring Hill,” said Historic Commission Chairman, William Benedict. “Come hear the exciting plans the City has in store for 2019, while enjoying the ambiance of historic Rippavilla.”
Members of the Historic Commission include: Chairman Benedict, owner of the Kissing House and Juice Bar; Vice Chairman and City Alderman Jeff Graves; a Planning Commission representative; Kate Wilson, Executive Director of Rippavilla Plantation; and Jared Cunningham.
The annual open house event aims primarily to allow the Historic Commission to share its work of preserving the city’s history with the community while highlighting a specific property important to its local history. The commission is also very interested in hearing from the community.
“We want to hear feedback from our citizens; we are very open to ideas and take preservation very seriously.”
