Chef Keith West of Puckett’s Gro. & Restaurant will be featured on a new Travel Channel show called “Chow Masters.”
The original series follows Chef Sammy DeMarco (aka Sammy D) and best friend/Hollywood director Frank Coraci as they hit the road to find “the tastiest and most creative comfort food in America.”
West will be featured in an episode titled “Barbecue in Music City” on April 22nd at 8:30pm. The episode will also feature Brandon Frohne of Mason Bar and Shane Autry of Smoke Et Al. The three chefs are vying for a $10,000 cash prize and the Golden Skillet award.
“It was a true honor to represent Nashville on the Travel Channel and the new ‘Chow Masters’ BBQ episode,” said Keith West, brand chef at Puckett’s family of restaurants. “The fact that they chose Nashville for its barbecue shows that the city is setting trends in the BBQ community. That they also chose Puckett’s to compete, shows you how much passion we put into our BBQ, and how much we respect the barbecue community.”
“I had a great time working with the crew during the shoot, and once I met the other two chefs I knew I was up against strong competition I think Chow Masters will be a great addition to the Travel Channel’s lineup and the competition food shows. At least after this episode, they will understand the meaning of ‘Pork on Pork Crime!'”
Thirteen half-hour episodes have already been filmed and the premier (on April 22nd) will feature back-to-back episodes: the first in New York at 8 p.m. and the second in Nashville at 8:30 p.m.
Puckett’s Gro. & Restaurant will host a viewing party of the show at Puckett’s Boat House at 94 E. Main Street in downtown Franklin from 7 to 9 p.m. The restaurant’s bar will serve samples of the Piggyback Pimento sandwich made in the show (and pictured above), as well as other specials.
