This week’s music includes a catchy song about a boy, strong inspirational women, a local group who played at Pilgrimage Festival featuring another artist who played at Pilgrimage- just not in the same year. Here’s to new music Friday.

1. Abby Anderson – “Good Lord”

Country artist Abby Anderson teamed up with Jimmie Allen for a rendition of “Shallow” but now she’s released “Good Lord” a song about her new boyfriend. Anderson is headed out on tour with Rob Thomas this summer with a stop in Nashville on July 9. See our interview with Abby here. 

2. Lord Huron- “When the Night is Over”

Lord Huron heads to The Ryman for two shows on Sunday, April 21 and Monday, April 22.  If you are looking for a ticket, there are only single seats availalble. Unable to score tickets? Their latest album Vide Noir is out now.

3. Thomas Rhett – “Look What God Gave Her”

It’s the first single for Rhett’s upcoming album Center Point Road to be released in May. In the video, it features a series of trailblazing women who are all inspirational ground-shakers – ranging from charitable leaders, mothers, and artists. There’s even a cameo with his two daughters Willa Gray and Ada James.

 

4. Cage the Elephant Featuring Beck – “Night Running”

Cage the Elephant releases their latest album Social Cues out today. The Kentucky-based band will be out on tour with Beck called “The Night Running Tour” this summer with Spoon – Plus: Starcrawler, Wild Belle & Sunflower Bean.

5. Josh Ritter – “All Some Kind of Dream”

Josh Ritter’s full album Fever Breaks will be out on April 26 but here’s a first listen to “All Some Kind of Dream.” Producer for the album was Jason Isbell, the 10-track album was recorded at Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A and features Isbell’s band, the 400 Unit.
