Made South Creates Nashville Coloring Book

Made South Nashville Coloring Book

Franklin resident and owner of Made South, Chris Thomas, created a Kickstarter for a Nashville Coloring Book.

Enlisting the help of friend and illustrator, Caleb Faires, Thomas has created a coloring book inspired by Nashville. In the 60 page coloring book, you’ll places and landmarks known to Nashville. A hand illustrated guide with perforated pages for easy removal and display.

On Tuesday, which so happened to be National Coloring Book Day, they exceeded their goal of $13,000 needed to make the first run of the Nashville Coloring Book.

We asked Thomas how it felt to reaching his goal 12 days early and on National Coloring Book Day. “It feels great to meet our goal two weeks early, and it’s extra special to meet it on National Coloring Book Day. That’s a lot of fun,” he said.

Now that the project has been funded the work begins.

“Caleb Faires, our illustrator and partner on this project, is working on finishing up illustrations for the book,” said Thomas. “We should have books in-hand 3-4 weeks after we submit final art to our printer. We hope to be shipping books to Kickstarter backers by November 1.”

And for those who hadn’t heard about the Kickstarter, there is still time to place your order. You can still reserve your copy of the Nashville Coloring Book on the Kickstarter page until August 16. By doing so, you will be one of the first to own a copy of the Nashville Coloring Book designed, hand illustrated and made in Nashville.

After the books have been published and all rewards have been fulfilled, $1 from the sale of each book will be donated to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

We asked Thomas if another coloring book project was on the horizon. His answer – The Franklin Coloring Book.
