for KING & COUNTRY Hold Book Release Party

It was a mini concert, a book release party, and sneak peek of the upcoming motion picture “Priceless” held this week at Church of the City.

The brother duo for KING and COUNTRY, Luke and Joel Smallbone, kicked off their book release for Priceless taking to the stage to sing a few songs including their most popular “Fix My Eyes.”

During the book release party, Joel Smallbone told how the book and movie came about ,”One of the things we’ve been moved to share is that a woman is worth celebrating and charging men to be chivalrous in how you love a woman. And two years into sharing this message, we went to our brother Ben who is a film maker and wanted to bring this message to the silver screen. ”

Joel Smallbone plays the main character James Stevens. At one time, James was a good man with a great life. After the tragic death of his wife and losing custody of his little girl, James is at the darkest crossroad of his life. Angry, desperate, and unable to hold down a steady job, he agrees to drive a box truck on a shady, one-time trip cross country for cash — no questions asked. When he discovers what he is delivering is actually a who, the questions in his mind begin haunting him. James becomes an unlikely hero who must fight to save the lives of two young women and finds himself falling in love with one of them.

With this project, they tackle one of our cultural’s biggest issues – human trafficking. “Priceless” continues the message of for King and County,  “Part of the DNA of for KING & COUNTRY is this idea of respect and honor in relationships and women being priceless,” Joel Smallbone says. “What we’ve found in our beliefs as men is that people are made equal. The film continues the idea that no one is a commodity and everyone deserves to be loved and loved well. And we are fortunate to have our family on board for this journey – our brother Ben directed the film while our father David and brother Luke produced.”

“Pricelss” stars Joel Smallbone (for KING & COUNTRY), Bianca Santos (THE DUFF), Amber Midthunder (“Longmire”) with Jim Parrack (SUICIDE SQUAD, “True Blood”) and David Koechner (ANCHORMAN, “The Goldbergs”).
