Animal Center Offers $10 Rabies Vaccination

Williamson County Animal Center once again is presenting its Fall schedule of $10 rabies clinics for dogs and cats at locations all over the county.

The clinics are open to the public and staffed by local veterinary clinics. Please bring cash or a check for payment. Dogs must be leashed and cats must be in carriers.

The State of Tennessee requires all dogs and cats to have a current rabies vaccination. So far in 2016, the State has reported confirmed rabies cases in five domesticated dogs and cats. The most common carrier in Middle Tennessee is the skunk, with 24 confirmed rabid skunks in 2015. The clinic schedule is as follows:

Saturday,  September 17                                                                                 

1 p.m. to 3 p.m., College Grove Elementary, College Grove

1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Heritage Elementary, Spring Hill

1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Williamson Co. Animal Center*

*Note: This location will also offer microchips for an additional $15.

Saturday, September 24          

1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Fox’s Grocery, Bending Chestnut community

1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Sunset Middle School, Brentwood

1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Fairview Elementary, Fairview                                         

The adoption center at Williamson County Animal Center, 106 Claude Yates Dr. in Franklin, is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday through Sept.  Adoptable animals can be viewed at www. adoptwcac.org.
