How Can You Protect Children? Free Course Offered

Davis House Child Advocacy Center

Davis House Child Advocacy Center invites you to kickoff Child Abuse Prevention Month by attending a free public training held at Westhaven Golf Club (4000 Golf Club Ln.) on Wednesday, April 1st from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Food and beverage will be provided.

Davis House utilizes Stewards of Children, an award winning, evidence-based program that provides a simple, 5-step approach to protecting children from sexual abuse, as its primary prevention training program.

“Whether you work with children, have children of your own, or simply have children in your neighborhood, this is valuable information that will equip you to better protect the children you encounter,” says Marcus Stamps, Davis House Executive Director. “We strongly encourage all adults to participate.”

Please RSVP to Sarah Mickle at 615-790-5900 x104 or [email protected].

The Center, whose main location is in Franklin, has regularly provided prevention training for years. The organization provides Stewards of Children and other programs at no cost to individuals and organizations in the community.

Davis House Child Advocacy Center serves children who have experienced sexual and/or severe physical abuse and is committed to providing a safe environment where a child’s voice is heard and respected. Providing both investigative and healing programs, the Center also works to empower non-offending parents to protect their children and participates in the state-mandated Child Protective Investigation Team as it investigates reported cases of child abuse. National statistics indicate that 1 in 10 children will be victims of sexual abuse by the age of 18. Last year Davis House served nearly 400 new child clients and provided over 2,000 services to these victims and their non-offending family members, all at no cost to the families.

Davis House Child Advocacy Center combats child abuse by coordinating services to children and their families in crisis and providing community education focused on prevention and early intervention. The Center serves Williamson, Hickman, Lewis, and Perry counties. For additional information about Davis House Child Advocacy Center and the services provided, please visit www.davishousecac.org.
