Kicking off the season at home last night, FRA put up a hard fight.  Franklin Road Academy (FRA) faced Christian Academy of Knoxville (CAK)  last night and fell short resulting in a 10-35 loss.

Although they were unable to snag the win last night, head coach Bill Whittemore wants to tell fans that they will be proud of their Panthers this year.

“This team has been challenged throughout the summer and has had higher attendance in the weight room then previous summers,” says Whittemore. “I think you will be proud of the product our men will provide and the style of play in which they provide it.”

He says they will need quite a few young men to step up this season.  “Our QB Spence Jones, will be taking his first snaps on varstiy.  We are replacing our leading rusher, Titan’s player of the Week, Hosea Baldwin, whose position will be filled by committee.  Sophomore Sam Harvin will need to a have a big year for us on both sidesof the ball, as we are very young in the secondary  as well.”

A stronger and faster team team this year, Whittemore says FRA is looking for an exciting season ahead.

“Our schedule does not present many push overs, so come out and support our men as each game will support its own challenges.”

The Panthers will travel to Goodpasture next week and kick-off at 7 p.m.
