Grandparents Day

A longstanding tradition at CPA Elementary School, Grandparents Day is an opportunity for CPA grandparents to visit with their elementary school student(s), learn about school experiences, meet teachers, see the classrooms, and enjoy time on campus.

The Academy hosts hundreds of parents and grandparents at this annual event, recognizing the important role of joining the generations that extended family plays in the lives of students. In addition, the fifth grade band performed a concert for fifth grade parents and guests to conclude their first year in instrumental music study.

After the classroom visits, guests and students convened in the Sanctuary for the program, themed What a Wonderful World. After opening remarks from ES Principal Anne Purdy, the program featured favorite songs such as “You Are My Sunshine,” “Put a Little Love in Your Heart,” and “How Sweet It Is,” performed by the students.

This year’s program was dedicated to Elementary School Principal Anne Purdy, to honor her 31 years of service to the Academy as she retires this summer.
