Noon today is your last chance to register for tomorrow’s state of the county address.
After another successful year of job growth, housing highs, and commercial development, county Mayor Rogers Anderson, in office since 2002, will give an overview of the year that was and lay out his vision for the year to come.
Anderson’s speech, hosted by Williamson, Inc. at the Franklin Marriott from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., will give an overview of how the county is performing on economic indicators such as financial health, education, public safety, transportation, job growth and capital investments. Anderson will also provide an update on the county budget for the 2016-17 fiscal year.
Tickets are $35 for members and $55 for non-members. A $5 late fee will be added after noon on Friday, July 15. Contact [email protected] for more information. Registration closes at noon on Monday.
Likely, the mayor will address the just-passed $515 million county budget, the accompanying property tax increase, the traffic issue and the need for future funding for schools as the county continues to grow.
The meeting, presented by Williamson Medical Center, will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs, 700 Cool Springs Blvd. East, and is expected to draw a sold-out crowd of more than 300 attendees.
