Columbia State’s girls basketball team was eliminated from the TCCAA/NJCAA Region VII basketball tournament March 4, falling 78-73 to Cleveland State in overtime.
The Lady Chargers led 63-50 with eight minutes remaining before the Lady Generals staged their comeback, going 28-10 the rest of the way.
Alexis Lang had a game-high 34 points for Columbia State, adding nine blocks and three rebounds.
Cleveland State had four players in double-digits, led by Chelsea Wyatt’s 26 points.
Columbia State’s boys squad takes on Motlow State tonight at 8 p.m.
Motlow State, the tournament’s No. 2 seed, beat Cleveland State 94-77 in the quarterfinals.
Columbia State, the No. 3 seed, split their regular season meetings with Motlow State – winning 98-75 Feb. 28 and losing 97-84 Nov. 8.
