Annual Salute to Veterans Includes Reception, Parade

Veterans and their families will be honored Friday morning with a reception at the Williamson County Archives, followed by the annual Veterans Day Parade.

The parade features local veterans, including grand marshals representing various wars. Local marching bands and JROTC units also participate.

The Franklin Special School District will also send a large group of students to show their appreciation to veterans.

The reception is from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. At 11, the parade steps off from just outside the archives, at West Main and Fifth Avenue. The parade continues down Main Street and across the Public Square, then down Second Avenue.

The parade is a joint effort of the City and local radio station WAKM AM-950.
