Annual Celebration of Nations Festival Takes Place This Weekend

On Saturday, October 14 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sister Cities of Franklin and Williamson County will present their annual “Celebration of Nations” festival in downtown Franklin.

Franklin’s sister city’s current relationships are Carlton Place Canada, County Laois, Ireland and Bad Soden am Taunus, Germany.

The event’s goal is to increase global and cultural passion beginning with a personal knowledge and understanding of the interconnection of people universally.

Throughout the day, two stages will feature music and dance from around the globe including headliners Phil Keaggy, Jonell Mosser and the San Rafael Band along with over 20 others.

There will be booths featuring different products and techniques used around the world and representing one or more cultures. Food and beverages from a variety of nations will also be available.

Starting at noon, a variety of international beers and wines from different countries will be for sale. The rest of the festival’s activities are free and open to the public.

The event will take place on 4th Avenue South (in front of the parking garage) and the connecting alley from 4th Avenue to the Historic Williamson County Courthouse.
