Wednesday morning the nonprofit Franktown Open Hearts held a “Christmas in July” event where the storefronts of Handy Hardware and Triple Crown Bakery were decorated with Christmas lights, gingerbread cookies were served and there was a visit from Santa to announce their new Franktown Festival of Lights event.
“I was so surprised to hear that the need is so great within the Franklin community, but currently there are over 400 kids who need help with only funds to serve 150,” said Franktown board member Eddie DeGarmo. “We wanted to think of something out of the box to help our neighbors in need, and Franktown Festival of Lights is the perfect opportunity to bring the community together as a whole. It’s helping those in your backyard while providing something for the whole family to enjoy this Christmas season.”
The announcement detailed how this Christmas season Williamson County residents will experience a drive-thru Christmas lights display to be held at the Williamson County Agriculture Center in Franklin. Designed by North Pole Production, the Festival of Lights begins on Thanksgiving weekend and continues until December 29. Tickets are $25 per vehicle or $35 for vehicles which 15 passengers or larger. Purchase your tickets online here.
