Police Identify Woman and 2 Children Killed in I-65 Crash Last Week

Police have released the names of the victims and some details of the deadly crashon I-65 in Spring Hill last Monday.

In its preliminary report, released Tuesday evening after a week of investigation, the Tennessee Highway Patrol identified the mother and two children who died as Lauren, 31, Alexanna, 3, and Alex Jackson, 1, as the three who died in the one-car crash.

At 12:04 on Monday, October 23 Jackson, with the two children in her 1994 Nissan Sentra, was taking the exit ramp from I-65 North to I-840 East. Jackson ran off the side of the road and over-corrected, crossing back over the exit ramp and hitting the concrete barrier on the left side of the ramp, according to the report by Trooper Randy McDonald. He reported further that the car then rolled over and caught fire.

All three, who had seatbelts on, died on the scene.
