If you have not yet picked your pumpkin this year, below is a list of a few patches we at the Source think you might want to know about in the Williamson County area. Some are well known fixtures, like Gentry’s Farm, a couple are little farmsteads you probably would not find in a quick online search, and a couple others send their proceeds to very good causes. We hope this information makes your Autumn a littler easier and a little more fun!
Forest Hills United Methodist Church
Location: 1250 Old Hickory Blvd. Brentwood, TN 37027

Open: Sunday from noon until dark, Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. until dark, and Saturdays 8 a.m. until dark.
Price: No set prices; Donation- based
Details: All donations go towards funding the church’s youth missions. Recently they have helped feed homeless in Savannah, went to the Bahamas to help rebuild after tornadoes, and are planning to go to Oklahoma to help rebuild houses from recent tornadoes
Gentry’s Farm
Location: 1974 New Hwy 96 West, Franklin, TN 37064

Open: Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and Monday from 9 a.m. to noon
Price: From $1 to $3 depending on size.
Details: This century-and-some year old farm lets you pick your own pumpkins, providing wheelbarrows. Already picked pumpkins also available.

The Cooper Trooper Foundation
Location: Cool Springs Blvd. and Mallory Lane in front of Walgreens (530 Cool Springs Blvd., Franklin, TN 37067). Parking available in the Walgreens parking lot.

Open: Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Price: Donations go to the Cooper Trooper Foundation
Details: The Cooper Trooper Foundation helps families pay for and cope with having a child diagnosed with cancer. Over $40,000 raised last year. Also on weekends there are free games, pumpkin decorating, corn trough and trained face-painters.
Morning Glory Orchard
Location: 7690 Nolensville Road, Nolensville, TN, 37135.

Hours: Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Prices: Vary by size
Details: They also have an apple orchard and offer educational Orchard tours on Saturdays. There is a small store which sells apples, cider, vegetables, and jams, jellies, fruit butter and honey.
Fruity Patch Farm

Price: Vary by size
Details: This is a small farm that sells apples, blueberries, corn and, of course, pumpkins. It is off the beaten path and is more of a throwback to the days before pumpkins just appeared at the supermarket every Fall.
