After announcing a partnership with a downtown Nashville venue, Music City Roots has suspended their weekly live shows.

Most recently, Music City Roots held its weekly shows at The Factory in Franklin,

In a message to their followers on Facebook they stated, “With a mix of hope and some sadness, we must announce to you, our family and community, that in recent days our previously announced plans for a downtown Nashville venue partnership have fallen through. We deeply appreciate the team behind the new 6th & Peabody project working hard to finalize a win-win situation with us, but unforeseen complexities have made it impossible to present MCR there as we’d hoped.”

They continued by saying this will be the first time since the show started back in October 2009 that they will suspend production and distribution to radio affiliates. WMOT Roots Radio will continue as usual.

Music City Roots is a live radio show and webcast that revives the historic legacy of live musical radio production. The show first began at the Loveless Cafe Barn and moved to The Factory at Franklin back 2014. Their last show at the Factory was in December 2017. Each broadcast features four artists in 25-minute segments and short interviews, plus a show-closing jam where all musical guests return to the stage.
