On Thursday, June 18, The Battle of Franklin Trust will host a fundraiser for the McGavock Confederate Cemetery at the Fleming Center at Carnton Plantation.
The program runs from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. and will feature a short talk by Rod Heller, a lawyer, business investor and descendant of the McGavock family. During recent years, Heller and his wife have been active members in Civil War preservation efforts around Carnton Plantation.
Eric Jacobson will also speak with additional comments by Nancy Bassett, chairman of The McGavock Confederate Cemetery Corporation.
The evening for the McGavock Cemetery will also include dinner and will conclude with a tour of the cemetery guided by Eric Jacobson.
Tickets are $75 per person and may be purchased here.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the McGavock Cemetery upkeep and restoration.
