Libraries deserve some recognition, so Williamson County Mayor Rogers Anderson declared February as Libraries of Williamson County Month.
Throughout the month, public libraries will host activities ranging from storytelling sessions to classes about improving reading skills. These activities will help showcase what each library has to offer.
“A lot of the schools are doing different displays,” said Ravenwood High media specialist Tiffany Tucker. “The high schools are doing blind dates with books, and the elementary schools are giving away stickers. We’re trying to host activities in the libraries that make the students want to visit.”
In addition to these activities being hosted at each school library, there is a county-wide celebration on February 20 from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Brentwood, Spring Hill and Williamson County public libraries.
“We always want to promote reading,” Tucker said. “This particular month is just to highlight how all the libraries in Williamson County are working together.”
