Interview with Studio Novo Coach-Anne Marie

Anne Marie Peterson is a very busy person. Besides being a Studio Novo Coach, Anne Marie is a Tennessee Titans Cheerleader & Captain, a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor, Barry’s Bootcamp Nashville Instructor, and a key leader at Lululemon Athletica.

Also, Anne Marie has a Business degree from Belmont University specializing in Entertainment Business. In 2013, she was named one of Nashville’s Top Personal Trainers by the Nashville Scene.

AnneMarie-1024x1024Anne Marie discovered Studio Novo and the Lagree Fitness™ Method while training for auditions for her fourth year as a Tennessee Titans Cheerleader. Immediately hooked, Anne Marie has adapted this method as a regular part of her own fitness regimen, and absolutely loves teaching at Studio Novo.

WS:  What was it about the Lagree Fitness™ Method at Studio Novo that kept you coming back and going on to becoming certified in the Lagree Fitness™ Method?

Anne Marie: “The Lagree Fitness™ method was unlike anything I had tried before. I was intrigued by the concept – Traditional gym exercises being performed on a Megaformer™ increased the intensity and effectiveness of the exercises, all while having a very low impact on my joints.​ Being an athlete my whole life, I have suffered some injuries and had never been able to develop full leg strength back to the pressure traditional weight lifting puts on my body. With the Lagree Fitness™ method at Studio Novo, the pain wasn’t there and I was able to build back a good majority of my leg strength in a short amount of time.
As I discovered how “game changer” this method was for my body, I wanted to become certified and help others find their true strength no matter age or past injuries.”

WS:   What is your favorite thing about Studio Novo and the studio novo community?

​Anne Marie: “The Studio Novo Community consists of all different types of people. There’s not just one certain age, body type, past workout history that makes up our community. The Lagree Fitness™ method can be done by anyone!​”

WS:  What can a client expect in one of your classes?

Anne Marie: ​“I will motivate you and inspire you to push yourself beyond old barriers. Fitness is all about the evolution your body goes through, and I like to help my clients break down old stereotypes about their strength​ and develop new positive feelings about how strong they really are.”

WS:  What is your favorite healthy, post-novo snack?

Anne Marie: ​“Max Muscle Triple Whey Protein Shake & Banana”​

WS:  What kind of results have you seen since being introduced to the Lagree Fitness™ Method at Studio Novo?

Anne Marie: “I used to workout everyday for 1-2 hours. With the Lagree Fitness™ Method at Studio Novo, I can get even better results without having to do 2 hour long workouts everyday. My core & leg strength are the strongest they’ve been in my entire life. My chronic knee pain has gone to a minimal level, and my legs are getting stronger and incredibly leaner.​”

WS:  I know you also are a coach at Barry’s Bootcamp, so tell us a little bit about the differences in the two methods. Do they complement each other?

Anne Marie: ​“Barry’s Bootcamp is interval training combining cardio on a treadmill with floor work involving weights/medicine balls/weighted bars/plyometrics. Barry’s Bootcamp and Studio Novo area ideal compliments to each other. The leg work at Studio Novo has made me a faster runner, with minimal knee pain. My muscles are leaner than ever because the strength work I do at Barry’s for my fast-twitch muscles is complimented by Novo’s method of reaching the slow twitch muscle fibers to develop lean muscles. This helps create a balanced body which is an ideal setting when trying to reach ultimate physical fitness.”

WS: Is there anything else about Studio Novo that you think everyone should know?

​Anne Marie: “Fitness is my world and passion. After working in the television industry in NYC & LA for almost a decade, I decided to pursue a career to help others change their lives after I went through a weight loss of 40 pounds. I’m the captain of the Tennessee Titans Cheerleaders, and on the leadership team at lululemon athletica hill center. I want to inspire everyone to go after any dreams they may have in life! ​?
