(Franklin, TN) — Spring Hill had the game all but wrapped up leading by three in the bottom of the seventh. That’s when Franklin put together one of their best rallies of the season, scoring four runs, the last coming on a wild pitch to grab victory out of the jaws of defeat against the 10th ranked Raiders.
The comeback started with a Kamran Tate double to centerfield that scored Alex Bogan. After Matthew Lopez struck out swinging, pinch hitter Jordan Bell knocked in two runs to tie the game at 6-6.
Spring Hill would gift wrap the game winning run for Franklin by throwing a wild pitch with a runner at third to give the Rebels the 7-6 come from behind win.
The Raiders’ big inning came in the top of the sixth when a Josh Wilkinson single broke up a 3-3 tie. Spring Hill would add two more runs in the inning to take the 6-3 lead.
The cowbell got some action today at Franklin in the bottom of the first when Nick Hutchins smacked a two-run homer over the left-field fence to tie the game at 2.
Stewart Davis pitched just the seventh inning but is credited with the win in relief.
Gage Gillian is given the loss for Spring Hill, allowing the three earned runs in the bottom of the seventh.
Franklin improves to 6-11 in district 11 and 11-15 overall with the win. They will host #2 Goodpasture on Monday before playing Spring Hill again on Tuesday at Spring Hill.
The Raiders are now 19-12 overall and 8-2 in district. Before their rematch with the Rebels they will host Summit on Monday.
