Softball Weekly Recap April 25th

Only six Williamson County High School softball teams are above the .500 mark with a winning record and three haven’t registered a win yet this season. See recaps on all teams in the weekly recap.

#11 BGA

The Wildcats are 8-5 but lost their most recent contest with Franklin Road Academy 10-2. Their final game of the regular season will take place Tuesday at at #23 Webb School.

Brentwood

The Bruins won one and lost two this week. Their only win came on Tuesday in a 5-2 win over Franklin. Brentwood has two rivalry games this weekend with Brentwood Academy and Ravenwood. As of Friday afternoon they are 5-14 on the season and 2-6 in their district.

#6 Brentwood Academy

The Eagles took two losses this week but they were to the #1 and #2 ranked teams in the state. They run-ruled #15 Ensworth yesterday and will play two games today against Brentwood and Franklin. BA is 5-4 on the year with a record of 3-4 in their class.

Centennial

The Cougars are still looking for a win this year after a 6-2 loss at Franklin yesterday. Centennial is now 0-8 on the season but they still have chances to get a “W” before the season ends. They have three games left. Summertown today, Lawrence County tomorrow and Brentwood on Tuesday.

CPA

The Lions are another Williamson County team struggling this season. They are 1-8 and have nearly gone a whole month without a win. They’ll hit that mark tomorrow as their last victory was all the way back on March 26th in a 14-9 win against Ensworth. They will play Spring Hill on Tuesday.

Fairview

The Yellow Jackets finished the regular season 8-10 and 4-8 in District after a 13-0 loss at Waverly yesterday.

Father Ryan

Father Ryan have several games but lost their most recent contest to PJP2 on Tuesday to tune of 1 15-2 thumping. The Fightin’ Irish join the list of struggling softball teams in Williamson County as they fall to 4-11 on the regular season.

Franklin

The Rebels broke up a 7-game losing streak by getting a much needed 6-2 win over Brentwood yesterday in the Franklin/Sonic Tournament. The 10-14 Rebels have three more games scheduled for this weekend in the tournament.

FRA

Franklin Road Academy is having a pretty nice year on the softball diamond. The 9-5 Panthers picked up a win last night against BGA in convincing fashion. Their last game of the regular season is scheduled for tomorrow against University School of Nashville.

Independence 

Indy is another Williamson County team without a win this season. They are currently 0-11 after a 3-2 loss to Summit on Tuesday. They play #17 Spring Hill today as they continue their search for a win this season.

Page 

Another team without a win this season, the Patriots are 0 for 9 this year and have only scored 1 run in their last six games. They have one last chance to get a regular season win on Monday when they travel to Blackman.

Ravenwood

The Raptors are one of the few Williamson County teams not having a bad season. They are 16-9 and 6-4 in conference. They are coming off a 10-6 win at Summit and will play four games this weekend in the Franklin/Sonic Tournament.

#17 Spring Hill

SHHS are doing pretty well also. The Raiders are 11-7 overall and 6-2 in their district. They have won three games in a row by a combined 16-0 with the most recent win being a 2-0 victory at Lewis Co. They are at Independence today.

Summit

The Spartans are finishing up their season well. They are 9-2 in District and winners of 3 of their last 4. They fell to Ravenwood 10-6 yesterday but before that, defeated three district foes in a row. They will host Ensworth next Friday for their last regular season game of 2014.
