Franklin Christian Academy Captures Mid Tenn Soccer Championship

Franklin Christian Academy’s (FCA) soccer team, led by tournament MVP and senior Chardin Stengele, defeated Aaron Academy 5-2 on Saturday to claim their first ever Middle Tennessee Athletic Conference Soccer Championship.  The Falcons finished the year undefeated in conference play, going 12-0.

FCA advanced to the title game by defeating West Academy 6-1.

Senior Tyler Ritchie scored two of his four tournament goals on penalty kicks in the championship game, while All Tournament mid-fielder Lucas Tomlin and 9th grader Aidan Britt scored one each along with Stengele, who added his final of five tournament goals.

The Falcons defense was led by goalkeepers, sophomore Hayden Weeks and junior Spencer Tomsett, and senior fullbacks Emmett Berry, Alex Deits, and Logan Starwalt.

“I am so proud of these kids who have worked so hard and have done nothing but lived and breathed soccer the past year in order to achieve their goal of winning a championship”, said FCA Varsity Coach Rod McLain.

The title was FCA’s third MTAC championship, after claiming the football and cross country crowns earlier this year.
