Donna’s Deals: 10 Ways to Save Money at Lowe’s

Are you setting your sights on repainting, upgrading an appliance or just doing some regular home maintenance?  We have ten tips on ways to save money on your next trip to Lowe’s.

1. Sign-up for text alerts from Lowe’s and be the first to know about discounts and sales. Use the online form here. 
2. Not so great with plants, return your dead plants to Lowe’s for credit. You have up to a year to return plants but you can only return your plants with a receipt.
3. Use Your Coupons at Lowe’s.  If you are buying cleaning supplies, you can still use your coupons on top brands like Tide, Clorox, Bounty and Charmin.
4. Ask For a Price Match. Lowe’s will match competitor’s pricing on the exact same item. You can also have them match in-store pricing with online prices.
5. Use the Military Discount Program. Lowe’s established the 10% Military Discount to the men and women who have served or are currently serving our country in the US armed forces. To receive the Everyday 10% Military Discount, you must:Be currently serving in or a veteran of the US armed forces or be the immediate family member. Once the service member signs up for the discount program on Lowes.com, it will be linked to a MyLowe’s card that may also be used by the immediate family.
6. Buy Paint from the Mistint Area. If you have a small project, you can buy paint at a drastically reduced price in the Mistint Area.
7. Look for the Yellow Tags. There are two different types of yellow tags, one that offers a temporary price reduction which will sale “New Lower Price” and the other yellow tags are for clearance items.
8. Get the Lowe’s Card for a savings of 5% every day. Get 5% off your eligible purchase or order charged to your Lowe’s Advantage Card. 5% discount will be applied after all other applicable discounts, there are a few restrictions, see those here. 
9. Purchase large appliances in these two months.  During the month of August or Black Friday, Lowe’s offers the best prices on large appliances with up to 30% discount.
10. Free Local Deliveries. Lowe’s offers delivery free 7 days a week, (not available Thanksgiving or Christmas Day) for any appliance $396 or more (calculated before taxes, installation, delivery, haul away and extended protection fees, if any).
