A-Game Reaches Agreement with Tenants, To Close

Sports Land Group, the owners of A-Game Sportsplex,  have reached an agreement in the lawsuit against them filed by Alliance Volleyball and MDG Management.

The SportsPlex will close its doors on March 31, and Alliance and MDG, its tenants, will agree to terminate their leases, the parties stated today in a press release.

“Sports Land Group, LLC will allocate a portion of the proceeds of the expected sale of the Sportplex facility to the volleyball and hockey clubs to assist,in relocation and other expenses triggered by the closure of the facility,” the release stated.

Jeff Wismer, executive director for Alliance Volleyball, will be speaking tomorrow at 6 p.m. at A-Game about the future of the club.

The parties had been in mediation since February, when A-Game agreed to reopen until the end of March.

The SportsPlex came to an agreement last summer to be bought by Al Neyer; however, Alliance Volleyball and MDG Management (which runs hockey clubs) both had signed leases in early 2015 that went through 2017 and 2019, respectively.

So, the sports groups sued. After a ruling went in favor of A-Game in early February, A-Game shut its door abruptly.
Two weeks later A-Game agreed to reopen, as the parties entered mediation.
