Youth football and cheerleading season starts this week. The Franklin Youth Football and Cheer Program was created in 1970 by the Optimist Club. For 43 years, the Franklin Cowboys have helped develop youth in a positive manner in Franklin.
Youth players are grouped by divisions based on age from pee wee league to varsity. Junior Pee Wee starts at 5 years old with a minimum of 60 pounds and the divisions ends with Varsity, up to age 14. To cheer, you must register on the site and the cost is $50. Cheer uniforms and materials are an additional cost. Registration is available online; check out the website and see if it is right for your youth.
Volunteer efforts and business donations have funded this program successfully as they have created a legacy of developing and mentoring young men and women. The program has been recognized as one of the best youth sports programs in TN. The Cowboy Football Complex is at Jim Warren Park. They are proud members of the Tennessee Youth Football League.
