The National Weather Service’s Storm Prediction Center has placed much of Middle Tennessee in an enhanced area for severe storms.
WSMV, Channel 4 reports that the line of thunderstorms will move through the area between 9 p.m. Thursday and 5 a.m. Friday. There may be some thunderstorms developing before the front arrives in the afternoon and evening. Those storms will be scattered, but possibly strong.
The greatest threat for Thursday night from the severe storms will be high wind.
Tonight, it will be around 56 with a south/southwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Your commute on Friday morning may be a little dicey as well with storms expected to linger until about 8am. After that, things will begin to taper off and by Friday evening, the weather will be clear, with a low around 47.
