Ravenwood Raptor Chris Rowland received a scholarship offer from University of Tennessee- Martin Campus on Monday.

Rowland, 5-foot-9, 170 pounds, had a breakout year for the Class 6A state champion Raptors, coming up big in the playoffs. A player in the Darren Sproles/Tavon Austin/Randall Cobb mold, he had a 63-yard touchdown catch in the Ravenwood championship victory over Maryville, along with 46 yards rushing and a touchdown pass. He also returned a kickoff 80 yards for key touchdown against Whitehaven in the state semifinals.
He previously had a scholarship offer from Austin Peay and, along with Indy wideout Nate Johnson, is among the local athletes to keep an eye on for who they sign with on National Signing Day on February 3rd.
On the year he had 107 carries for 756 yards and 9 touchdowns along with 49 catches for 979 yards and 9 touchdowns.
