MADE SOUTH hosted the second annual Great Slider Showdown on Saturday, June 1. Ten chefs from around the South competed at the event, and attendees had the opportunity to sample mouthwatering sliders and enjoy cocktails, craft beer, Cheerwine soda, and Mountain Valley Spring Water, and a new photo opp with a background created by local muralist ForBecks.
Celebrity Chefs judges included Kelsey Barnard Clark, James Briscione, and Sean Brock who awarded the Goldens’ Slider Prize to the chef with the winning recipe.
Chef Paul Jensen II with The Dotted Lime in Columbia took home the $3,000 cash prize, new cast iron cooker from Goldens’ Cast Iron and the honor of being automatically entered into the 2019 World Chef Challenge. Other local chefs who competed were BJ Lofton of Funk Seoul Brother and Dave Story from Mojo’s Tacos.
