Nashville native, Brett Granstaff along with his father, Gary Granstaff, have opened Ridgerock Entertainment in Nashville focusing on creation and development of major independent films.
Brett Granstaff told us he chose Franklin as his home because he loves the energy of the area. “Franklin is just 15 minutes to downtown Nashville but I wanted to live in Franklin so I could enjoy downtown Franklin and what it has to offer. I am also a big fan of Puckett’s.”
Brett attended elementary school in Hendersonville where he has fond memories of seeing June and Johnny Cash at the grocery store and visiting at Conway Twitty’s home on occasion. One thing he is really looking forward to in being back in the area- Predators games. “Go Preds!”
Ridgerock Entertainment’s latest project “Black Mass” is a feature film based off the book Black Mass, a true story of Whitey Bulger, the brother of a state senator and the most infamous violent criminal in the history of South Boston, who became an FBI informant to take down a Mafia family invading his turf.
‘Black Mass’ features Johnny Depp, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Dakota Johnson. It is set to be in theaters nationwide on September 18th, 2015.
Granstaff says, “Johnny Depp is brilliant in ‘Black Mass’, it wouldn’t surprise me if he won an award for this performance.”

Gary Granstaff will be working with development, finance and acquiring intellectual properties for the firm. He has an undergraduate and graduate degree from Middle Tennessee State University and attended Nashville Law School. Gary owns one of the largest retirement consulting firms within Voya Financial Corporation and has nearly four decades of sales, marketing and finance experience.
Ridgerock has also established Ridgerock Faith with a recently completed film, “The Masked Saint,” which stars Diahann Carroll and Roddy Piper will be the division’s flagship production set to release in theaters early 2016. ‘The Masked Saint’ is the first of many slated faith based films that will be produced by Ridgerock Faith.
