Nashville swept the top two spots in a recent ranking of the most outstanding meeting hotels in the United States as determined by Cvent, a global meetings management company. The Omni Nashville Hotel ranked No. 1, and Gaylord Opryland Resort came in at No. 2. The Renaissance Nashville Hotel made the Top 20 by coming in at No. 16.
In a separate hospitality accolade, Nashville was recognized as the Convention and Visitors Bureau of the Year for secondary markets by ConferenceDirect, one of the nation’s top third-party lead providers for group meetings. The Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp was recognized for its top performance for secondary markets, which include cities outside convention behemoths, such as Orlando and Las Vegas.
“Both these honors are further validation that Nashville is a destination that consistently offers a high-level of customer service,” said Ken Levitan, board chair of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp and co-president of Vector Management. “Remaining friendly and authentic are keys to sustainability as a top global destination and a major economic driver for the city. Congratulations to our hotel partners and the staff of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp for this well-earned recognition.”
Also on Cvent’s list of Top 100 hotels in the United States was the Sheraton Nashville Downtown Hotel, which came in at No. 66. It was the Sheraton’s first time on the list. This was the second year in a row for the Opryland Hotel to rank No. 2. Omni Nashville Hotel moved up from a No. 3 position last year.
The CVB of the Year award was announced during the ConferenceDirect 2016 Annual Partner Meeting, which took place in San Antonio, Texas.
ConferenceDirect is the second national award for the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp to receive in recent months. In December, Nashville was named the top destination marketing organization in North America by members of the National Tour Association.
“The National Tour Association represents group travelers, while ConferenceDirect relates to convention sales,” Levitan said. “Being recognized by both groups underscores the exemplary performance of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp with all our markets. This kind of recognition can’t be bought, and, because it comes straight from our clients, it means so much more.”
