Award-winning country star Lauren Alaina will be the featured entertainer for the 2019 Symphony Fashion Show, taking place on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Schermerhorn Symphony Center.

Symphony Fashion Show chairmen Cynthia Arnholt and Allison Schaufele revealed the news during the 2018 Symphony Fashion Show kickoff party at Gus Mayer in Nashville. Wes Gordon, Creative Director of Carolina Herrera New York, has already been announced as the featured designer for the 14th annual event.

“Lauren Alaina’s prodigious talent, one-of-a-kind exuberance and undeniable relatability are as evident now as when she wowed audiences and judges alike as a contestant on American Idol,” said Arnholt and Schaufele. “Pairing Lauren with Wes Gordon continues the Symphony Fashion Show tradition of showcasing the brightest talent from the worlds of fashion and music, and we’re so thrilled to have them both on board for what promises to be an incredible evening supporting the Symphony’s work throughout the Middle Tennessee community.”

Described as the “sassy Southerner with killer pipes” by Parade magazine, Georgia-native Alaina is one of CMT’s “Next Women of Country” and the reigning CMA New Vocalist of the Year. Her critically acclaimed sophomore album, Road Less Traveled, was the top-streamed female country album of 2017 and landed on multiple “Best Of” lists, including BillboardRolling Stone and Amazon. The collection of 12 original songs includes her first No. 1 hit, “Road Less Traveled”; the Top 25 hit “Doin’ Fine”; the deeply personal and inspiring “Three”; and her newest single, “Ladies in the ’90s,” which Alaina wrote as a tribute to the many female role models she heard on the radio while growing up in the 1990s.

In addition to earning nominations for ACM Vocal Event of the Year and Billboard Music’s Top Country Song awards, Alaina took home an ACM New Female Vocalist of the Year Award and CMT Collaborative Video of the Year Award for “What Ifs,” the quadruple-Platinum-selling No. 1 hit with her childhood friend, Kane Brown.

Following the release of Road Less Traveled, she also received nominations for the ACM Awards, CMA Awards, CMT Music Awards, Teen Choice Awards, Radio Disney Awards and Billboard Music Awards, and she has shared the stage with Alan Jackson, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Martina McBride and Jason Aldean.
