Franklin Police announced Hillsboro Road’s closure at 3:30 Tuesday afternoon, after a worker hit a gas line.
The road was closed between Del Rio Pike and Mack Hatcher Memorial Parkway. Traffic in the corridor was gridlocked.

Although Hillsboro Road has re-opened, it is very congested and the Franklin Police suggest drivers seek alternate routes.
Construction along the state route will continue to happen until next summer. The City of Franklin is currently widening the highway.
