Earlier this week, the Franklin Special School District recognized ten employees of the year for its departments at the Board of Education meeting.
The overall employee of the year award went to Debbie Turri, the webmaster as well as serving on the leadership council and teaching. Turri has worked for FSSD since 2005, when she started as a substitute teacher.
“She is a perfect employee and has a heart for everyone around her, especially the children she serves every day. She provides comfort, love and encouragement to them and they leave her room or her presence knowing someone loves them and believes in them,” were the words used to describe Turri in a press release from the FSSD.
Also recognized were department and building-level employees:
Lou Ann Bart: Liberty Elementary School, Bookkeeper
Julie Urban: Franklin Elementary School, Para-Professional
Amy Fisher: Johnson Elementary School, Nurse
Gayle Gower: Poplar Grove Elementary School, Attendance Secretary
Mandy Roberts: Poplar Grove Middle School, Para-Professional
Rebecca Deal: Freedom Intermediate School, Para-Professional
