Williamson County Parks and Recreation (WCPR) is pleased to offer new classes that explore the body-mind connection in relation to fitness. Mindful Eating 101 workshops will be offered at the recreation centers in Franklin and Nolensville, while SlimN60 is a 60-day supervised weight loss challenge offered at the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill.
Mindful Eating 101
Learn the ABC’s of mindful eating and the impact food decisions can have on health in this two-part workshop. Explore the difference in emotional eating and real hunger, and learn behaviors that will help you make the right decisions! Workshops include a teaching segment, gentle mindful yoga practice and relaxation. Mindful eating will be offered September 17 and 24 (#12747, $50) from 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. at the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Rd.; and September 19 and 26 (#12748, $50) from 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. at the Williamson County Recreation Complex at Nolensville, 7250 Nolensville Rd. Are you ready for a weight loss challenge that will deliver results? SlimN60 will motivate you to achieve your goals and to make a lifestyle change. Led by Angie Richardson, a certified personal trainer, SlimN60 includes detailed guided workouts, nutrition guidance, daily motivation, weekly accountability meetings, and a focus on team effort. SlimN60 will meet September 13-November 8 (skip 10/9) on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill, 2909 Commonwealth Dr. Register for activity #12723 ($275) at www.wcparksandrec.com.
