Craft Beer is Booming in Middle Tennessee

This weekend you have the opportunity to attend two grand events held by local craft breweries. Turtle Anarchy brewery is having their one-year birthday celebration and Mayday Brewery in Murfreesboro is co-hosting the Folk’n Art Fest with The Art Barn in Rockvale, TN. The craft beer boom is really taking off for Tennessee!

Both of these breweries are providing fantastic beverages, service and spirit to our community. This weekend you can give back by supporting local businesses. Turtle Anarchy will be opening their doors on Saturday, July 20th at 2 p.m. Live music, corn hole games, raffles, a hula-hoop contest and more will provide fun for the entire family until doors close at 10 p.m. Food is provided by Cool Café, which includes chicken sliders, mini burgers and brats, and vegetarian options too. “Our first year was great,” said Turtle Anarchy President Mark Kamp, “and we are looking forward to what the next years will bring.” Admission is free; visit their Facebook for more information.

Mayday Brewery in Murfreesboro is providing fantastic brew to Williamson County and will help connect art and the craft of beer making this weekend in Rockvale. From Noon to 8 p.m. at The Art Barn, a free event for the public will bring live folk music and more together. “We’ve got an eclectic Folk music lineup scheduled,” says Charles Nelson, Minister of Beervangelism at Mayday. “It’s everything from Bluegrass and Traditional Folk, to Indie and Folk Rock.” Included in the lineup are local favorites The Hardin Draw and Flea Market Hustlers. The outdoor stage will be sponsored by local screen printing company Worx Group and the indoor stage sponsored by The Murfreesboro Pulse. Handmade art, clay steins, birdhouses and more will be available for viewing and purchase from more than 20 vendors, and of course plenty of Mayday beer.
