Animal Center Offering Two for One Kittens

The Williamson County Animal Center in Franklin is overcrowded with kittens. Adopters can double their fun with two kittens for the price of one.

The shelter is sharing its bounty of kitten cuteness during a “Find your treasure” summer pirate event by offering a free playmate with every $50 kitten adoption.

The special will continue until shelter overcrowding is relieved, said Director Laura Chavarria. “We experience this every summer,” stated Chavarria, “and we thought providing an extra measure of ‘treasure’ would be a great way to find homes for these kittens.” In addition to the special offer on kittens, the adoption rate for adult cats is reduced to $25.

The shelter is currently at capacity, with 75 cats and kittens available for adoption. “We also expect many foster kittens to come in ready for adoption in the next couple of weeks. We are reaching out to our entire Middle Tennessee community for help. All these cats are in need of forever homes.” Adoptions require an approved application and include vaccinations, spay or neuter and microchip.

In addition to the adoption appeal, Chavarria also encouraged county citizens to spay or neuter their family pets to prevent unwanted offspring.  A free spay/neuter program is offered by the shelter to county families with annual incomes of $55,000 or less. Call (615) 790-5590 to inquire about the free spay/neuter program
