From WCS inFocus
Williamson County Schools is looking for parents who are interested in participating in the district’s new council focused on diversity, equity and inclusion.
Three parents met with Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney, Special Projects Manager Dr. Laura LaChance and Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources Dr. Leigh Webb on January 11. Now the group is sending out the call for other parents in WCS to get involved. The district wants everyone to have their voices heard.
“We need their perspectives,” said LaChance. “Together this council will make WCS one step better than it already is.”
The current group aims to reconvene in February to discuss moving forward. Specific goals and meeting times will be set at a later date, but quarterly meetings are being considered.
Anyone who feels they have a perspective that needs to be incorporated into the district’s plan can email LaChance.
