Scene Around Town: Franklin Classic Benefitting Mercy Community Healthcare

How did you spend your Labor Day morning? The Franklin Classic Run shut down the streets of downtown Franklin early on Monday morning for their annual run to benefit Mercy Community Healthcare. Three races took place on Monday with the 10K kicking off at 7:30a followed by the 5K and the kids 1K run.

There were 684 participants in the 10K run with 1,449 runners who took part in 5K. Winner of the 10K and 5K in the male category was August Puppas with times of 34:16 and 16:05 respectively. Top female runner for the 10K was Suzanne London with a time of 41:11 and Anna Pasternak for the 5K with a time of 17:47.

Mercy Community Healthcare is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Franklin, TN with a team of more than 120 full and part–time staff, including twelve medical providers.

Mercy’s patients come from more than 30 counties in Tennessee. They provide healthcare to over 7,000 unique patients with over 32,000 patient visits per year. Over 80% of Mercy’s patients are uninsured, on TennCare (Medicaid), or Medicare. Learn more about Mercy Community Healthcare here.
