Ravenwood High School senior Abigail Goddard is earning national recognition by placing first in the INCubatoredu National Pitch contest.

Goddard’s business, Spikey, won $17,000 at this month’s Uncharted Learning Summit in Chicago. Spikey is a portable keychain that a person can use to quickly determine if a drink is safe to consume. As one of several finalists, Goddard had 10 minutes to pitch her business to a board of investors and compete for $25,000 in seed money.

“Nothing compares to seeing your idea come to life and being validated by hundreds of investors, business leaders, entrepreneurs and even strangers,” said Goddard. “Except maybe when I heard Michael Miles, the founder of Uncharted Learning, say, ‘We do believe you need injection molding, Abigail,’ which was a clever way of announcing me as the national winner. With this $17,000 award, I can finally bring Spikey’s next model into full production, and I couldn’t be more excited.”

In addition to winning the INCubatoredu National Pitch contest, Goddard also received $4,500 in start-up funds at the 2025 EIC Final Pitch Contest in March.

Goddard’s success continues a strong tradition of entrepreneurship in WCS. Her win marks the second year in a row that a Williamson County student has earned the top spot in the national contest.
