Franklin Bookstore Hosts Open-Mic Poetry Event

Poetry Unbound Bound Booksellers

Bound Booksellers located in the Westhaven Subdivision of Franklin will launch an open-mic poetry event called Poetry Unbound on May 17 from 7 to 9PM in the courtyard of the bookstore.

Bound Booksellers’ owner Kelly Gore says, “My original vision for the bookstore was to create a space for community gatherings. Poetry Unbound is a great way for us to pass literature and poetry on and deepen community connection.”

Organizers of Poetry Unbound are Williamson County poets Sandy Coomer, Catherine Moore, and Nancy Posey. “I want to create an atmosphere where every participant, poets and listeners, feels welcomed and accepted.”

After the May 17th launch, the event will fall on the 2nd Thursday evening of each month. One or two featured poets will read and then it will open to those who sign up at 6:30 PM on the given night. Bring own chair and beverage. Courtyard is located behind the shops of 158 Front Street.
