The Dickens of a Christmas festival will take place this weekend in downtown Franklin Dec. 9- 10.
And since the weather will be chilly, Next Gen Heritage Foundation members will be offering a way to warm up with mulled wine on the public square. In years past, Next Gen has roasted chestnuts but chose to offer something different this year.
On their Instagram they posted, “Exciting news! Next Gen will be providing Mulled Wine at Dickens of a Christmas Festival this year! 🎄🍷Find us in the beer tent on the square! Ice skating AND mulled wine. Nothing better.”
When you visit the beer tent, Next Gen will be there to greet guests and share their vision for 2018. All alcoholic beverages will need to be consumed in the beer tent and will not be allowed throughout the festival.
In addition to mulled wine this year at the festival, you can also enjoy ice skating, and hear Franklin band Jars of Clay close out the festivities on Saturday night.
The Next Generation (Next Gen) is a division of the Heritage Foundation of Williamson County. They are the future faces of preservation, comprised of members ages 21 to 40. Learn more about Next Gen here.
Dickens of a Christmas takes place Saturday, Dec 9th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, December 10th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free and open to the public; some attractions will involve a small fee.
