UPDATE: The deadline to return your Brentwood 2020 Survey has been extended to March 28th

If you live in Brentwood and have not yet filled out your Plan 2020 Survey; it is not too late.

The city mailed out surveys to all of its households this week, so residents should be on the lookout.

As part of the update to its long-term development plan, Brentwood Plan 2020, it hopes to take the pulse of the population with the surveys.

It asks questions concerning the wants and needs of residents to get an idea of the vision its people have for the future of the city.

“Input from citizens is vital as we look to the future,” Kirk Bednar, city manager, said.

There has been an ongoing debate in the community over several proposed development projects, among them a hotly contested high-density housing and shopping center, another a plan to create a mixed-use Town Center.

Recently at several public meetings, it became apparent that there are diverging views in the community over how it wants the city to develop.

That is why the surveys are so valuable, said Bednar, because it will provide a much more comprehensive picture of the minds of its residents, where the voices heard at the public meetings may have been loud but not necessarily representative.

The city asks residents to return the surveys by Friday, March 28th, and will release the results sometime in April at city meetings open to the public.

The survey can also be answered online at www.BrentwoodSurvey2020.com. To complete the survey online, enter the 6-digit code found on the top right corner of the survey received via mail. Using this code ensures each household only completes one survey.
