The Battle of Franklin Trust has released the details of its 2013 “Calicos and Cadets” summer camp program. Carnton Plantation and The Carter House will once again be providing a hands-on Civil War experience for its young campers, ages 8-12. This year’s camp will be held during two sessions, June 13th – 15th , and July 11th – 13th. Advanced registration is encouraged.
“This year’s camp is going to be such a great experience for kids,” said Megan Smith, education coordinator at the Battle of Franklin Trust. “Campers will be able to understand what life was like during the Civil War for soldiers and women. It’s a great experience for kids and parents looking for a fun alternative to the traditional summer camps.”
Sessions run daily from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Carnton Plantation. Only $100 per child provides this fun and unique experience.
